‘Break' Away to St. Vincent de Paul
Emmanuel College to spend Spring Break Volunteering
Phoenix, AZ – While many college students will spend their spring breaks on beaches and in coastal party towns, students from Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts, are choosing a much different way to celebrate their holiday.
On Saturday, March 6, Emmanuel College students will be arriving at various locations around the metropolitan Phoenix area to spend spring break…volunteering. That's right. These college students will donate their time and talents to various nonprofit organizations across the Valley.
At the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, six students will begin a volunteer orientation at 4:00PM at the Dan O'Meara campus on Saturday, March 6. The following Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (March 8-10), they will serve as volunteers from 8:00AM—6:30PM in SVdP's kitchen, at the Family Evening Meal, and at the Henry Unger Memorial Dining Room. During their volunteer service, they will stay overnight at St. Matthew's Church in downtown Phoenix.
St. Vincent de Paul's kitchen and Family Evening Meal are located at the Dan O'Meara Campus, 420 W. Watkins, in Phoenix. SVdP's Henry Unger Memorial Dining Room is located at 9th Avenue and Madison in downtown Phoenix.
