A Day for ‘Do's at St. Vincent de Paul

Free Shampoos, Haircuts and Styles at SVdP's 9th Avenue Dining Room

Phoenix, AZ – On Sunday, March 7 from 10:00 AM –1:00 PM, over 40 professional barbers and stylists from Valley barbershops, salons and civic organizations such as Perry Monge Studio, Bagby the Barber, Gary's Place, Phoenix Barber Styling College, Sabino Salon, Designs by Tami, Studio Hair, Salon Vis-à-vis, and volunteers from the VFW, will offer free shampoos, haircuts and styles to guests of St. Vincent de Paul's Henry Unger Memorial Dining Room.

"We place flyers announcing the event at the [Henry Unger Memorial] dining room, CASS and Andre House"says Cindi Svatora from the Development Office at St. Vincent de Paul. "It's a wonderful opportunity for the poor and homeless to receive a little extra attention after their meals."

Awareness Corporation sponsors the event by providing each guest with hygiene packs, which include: shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, deodorant and razors. Big Lots, located at Mesa Dr. and Southern, also contributes to the event.
