On Christmas Day at St. Vincent de Paul, guests can find hope in a hot meal and the tradition of Christmas dinner carrying on — albeit in a safe and socially distanced way. Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, SVdP is still set to serve 4,500 Christmas to-go meals on Dec. 25 for individuals experiencing homelessness and low-income families.
“We know how important this meal is to so many struggling families this year," Associate CEO Shannon Clancy said. "St. Vincent de Paul may have had to change how we serve and celebrate because of the pandemic, but that isn't lessening our services nor our drive to continue spreading holiday cheer and nutritious hot meals in the most responsible, safe and joyful way we can this year."
All meals will be served to go at each of SVdP's five charity dining rooms with limited on-site volunteers. Guests will take home glazed ham with raisin sauce, sautéed green beens and onion almandine, baked sweet potato, and some pumpkin pie.
If you or someone you know needs a Christmas meal, please join us! All are welcome.
