Thank you for your support of the 2024 ABC15 2nd Chance Bike Drive!

Over 1,300 bikes were collected for the ABC15 2nd Chance Bike Drive in partnership with Earnhardt Auto Centers, benefiting St. Vincent de Paul. This was the result of dedication, generosity, and a shared belief in the power of a single bike.

Our partners and community stepped forward, understanding that a bike can mean the difference between unemployment and employment, attending school or staying home, retrieving groceries or going hungry, accessing vital health care or going without treatment.

Drop Off Your Gently Used Bike

Beginning August 26 and continuing through the end of September, ABC15 and Earnhardt Auto Centers will be raising awareness and donations around the need for new and used bicycles at SVdP. A bike can be the difference between unemployment and employment, going to school or not, retrieving groceries or going hungry, accessing health care or going without treatment. That’s why every bike donation counts, because each bike is an opportunity to improve someone’s life.

Our skilled volunteers fix dozens of bikes everyday, which helps to fund our mission

Thanks to the extreme generosity of our community, especially that of the ABC15 Second Chance Bike Drive, SVdP receives hundreds of bikes a year. But what do we do with those bikes, you might ask?

Bike donations are processed through SVdP's volunteer-run-state-of-the-art Bike Shop, which has refurbished 50 to 60 bikes every month for the past 13 years. Monetary donations will be used to purchase supplies to repair gently used bicycles. In addition to providing bikes to people in need, the bike shop also fosters community and skill development by allowing residents from SVdP's transitional housing facilities and volunteers to gain valuable experience refurbishing bikes to be sold at affordable prices at SVdP's thift stores. The funding generated through the sales of bikes go directly to support SVdP’s programs and services.
