A tribute to our Commander-in-Chef
Video by Chris Peterson
Head Chef Chris Hoffman has been with St. Vincent de Paul for 10 years now, and his impact on the kitchen and its food can be tasted in every bite.
When he joined in 2015, he left a high paying job as sous chef of one of the exclusive restaurants at the Phoenician so he could spend his days making food for the community members in the most vulnerable positions of their lives.
"Here, it's about doing things with love, and care, and taking care of people. That's what I do here," Chef Chris said.
Chef Chris runs the central kitchen at SVdP's main campus, where he oversees the creation of 7,000 meals every day. He could leave it at that, but his warm and inviting attitude brings a heart with the food that wouldn't be there without him. It's also his way of giving back after SVdP was there for him and his family during a time of need.
The video above is a brief tribute to the thousands of hours Chef Chris has devoted to making sure everyone at SVdP's shelters, dining rooms, and certain partner organizations ends each day with a full belly and a warm heart. Thank you, Chef Chris, for making a difference everyday!
