4 years of changing lives at the Washington Street Shelter!

Hear from our guests and staff about how they made the day special

This May, St. Vincent de Paul celebrated the 4th anniversary of the Washington Street Shelter! It was a day filled with laughter, fellowship, joy, and genuine human connection as residents, staff, volunteers, and community partners came together to enjoy water games and a special meal.

The celebration included a delicious grill out while residents and staff enjoyed kiddie pools, water balloon fights, squirt guns, board games, card game tournaments, and a special Bingo event hosted by Helping Hands PHX.

Funded by the the city of Phoenix and operated by SVdP, WSS continues to embody the mission by serving some of our community’s most vulnerable neighbors with dignity, compassion, and hope. The shelter has provided care and support to thousands of residents by giving them access to a safe, stable environment with a dedicated bed, three meals every day, case management to help them on their housing journey, and more.

We are grateful to celebrate alongside incredible community partners like Walk By Faith Ministries, who brought authentic Hawaiian food, shaved ice, volunteers, and an outpouring of love and compassion to our community.
