A Thousand Thanks to all of our partners for their ongoing support and service!

We're so honored that these organizations have chosen to support us and our mission to feed, clothe, house, and heal again this year

Thunderbirds Charities rises to support Phoenix's homeless community

As homelessness and poverty continue to rise in Arizona, people in our community desperately need more help. Fortunately, organizations like Thunderbirds Charities have risen to the occasion and supported SVdP and its mission to help those in need and at risk of becoming homeless. Thunderbirds Charities gave an overwhelmingly generous donation of $250,000 to help the SVdP Resource Center’s Homelessness Prevention Program. Thanks to Thunderbirds Charities, SVdP has been able to keep families and individuals housed across the Valley.

Vitalyst Health Foundation opens eyes with a Medical Assistance Grant

Vitalyst Health Foundation has made a substantial contribution in helping SVdP keep guests at the Virginia G. Piper Medical Clinic healthy! For the last three years, the Vitalyst Health Foundation has given $90,000 annually (for a total of $270,000!) for vision screening and treatment! And on top of that, they have also supported programs for Diabetes Management & Education with Increased Health Equity for High-Risk Arizonans. It is easy to SEE just how important these contributions have been, not to just the SVdP Medical Clinic, but to keep the community happy and healthy.

Another successful Turkey Tuesday in the books!

Thank you to all the amazing partners that made this year’s Turkey Tuesday another tremendous success for families in need in the Valley. Thanks to the in-store donations collected at the registers in Bashas’, Food City, and AJ’s Fine Foods; the storytelling and publicity from 12News; and the generous donations from corporate partners and community members; we were able to collect 3,244 physical turkeys and $657,232! That is thousands of families well fed and nourished during this difficult holiday season for many, and we could not have done it without the community's support!

BHHS Legacy Foundation helps families stay in their homes

More people than ever are facing the prospect of becoming homeless, most often because they experience a financial emergency and cannot afford their monthly rent or mortgage payment. That is why it is so important that programs like the SVdP Resource Center’s Homelessness Prevention Program are there to provide a safety net for families in need. This program is made possible thanks in part to the support from the BHHS Legacy Foundation. The foundation donated $150,000 to the Homelessness Prevention Program and helped keep many of our neighbors in their homes and off the street. SVdP and our guests are deeply grateful.

Desert Financial Credit Union goes above and beyond with four donations this year

Want to know a company that went the extra mile this year? Cue spotlight on: Desert Financial Credit Union! They gave multiple times throughout the year, and many of their employees gave individually as well! First, they supported SVdP’s Homelessness Prevention Program with an A.H.E.A.D grant for $50,000. Then, they gave another $50,000 toward Turkey Tuesday, which gave families turkeys and food boxes for the holidays. Desert Financial Credit Union employees also contributed parts of their own salaries toward the Sharing and Caring campaign which raised more than $38,000 for SVdP’s feeding programs. And finally, they helped SVdP collect non-perishable food items through Gratitude Boxes where individuals in the community could collect and donate food items to SVdP for the holidays. Thank you so much for your generosity, Desert Financial Credit Union!

The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation helps our oldest community members with Oz II support

As SVdP gets ready to open Ozanam Manor II in the coming months — with an additional 100 shelter beds for adults 55+, veterans, and those with disabilities – we are so thankful to have the incredible support of donors like the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation. The foundation has given an amazing donation of $40,000 for the operation of the new Ozanam Manor II. This support is vital, as the new shelter opens in less than six months, and we are eager to fill it quickly for those in need. Thank you so much to the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation for making SVdP’s services in Ozanam Manor II possible!

Fry’s Food Stores made the holiday season that much merrier!

This holiday season, a group of volunteers from Fry’s visited SVdP’s Family Evening Meal and created a special night full of Christmas cheer! They not only faithfully served all the guests present, but also provided many fun activities in the Dream Center for the children to get into the Christmas spirit. With decorations, arts, and crafts, who could not get excited for Santa?! Thanks for making such a special night for our families and kids, Fry’s!

Albertsons Companies Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors campaign

Rising costs of living in the Valley this year have also led to increased food insecurity. That is why Albertsons Companies Foundation Nourishing Neighbors campaign gave SVdP $225,000 — to graciously support our holistic work to feed neighbors in need and connect them with government-funded public health and nutrition programs such as SNAP and WIC. Thanks to their donations, more people than ever are going to have access to these essential programs so no one goes hungry in our community. Thank you for your generosity!

The Blue Cross® Blue Shield® of Arizona Foundation for Community & Health Advancement supported families health and nutrition education

Every year, hundreds of families visit the Ben & Catherine Ivy Center for Family Wellness at SVdP, where they learn about such important topics as healthy eating, well-balanced meals, and how to treat and prevent diabetes. The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Foundation for Community and Health Advancement has seen the importance of this preventative education and given SVdP $45,000 to support the programming! Now, even more families will be able to learn how to live healthier lives and avoid preventable conditions.

The TW Lewis Foundation made digital dough

The T.W. Lewis Foundation made a big impact for SVdP this year! They helped us finish the year strong by hosting a digital campaign to raise money for holiday food boxes so families could have tasty, nutritious food during the most magical time of the year. The campaign raised over $12,000, and on top of that, the foundation donated $10,000 earlier in the year to support SVdP and its holistic services. Thank you to the T.W. Lewis Foundation!

Vanguard generously supports SVdP's general fund

As SVdP continues to grow — doubling in size over the last several years — it also needs continued support for its general fund just to make ends meet in expenses like salaries and overhead. That is why donations, like the one from Vanguard, are so important and appreciated! They gave $25,000 to the SVdP general fund, which helps with anything and everything. This funding in turn gives SVdP the ability to use other donor dollars to keep its high quality of care and services to those in need across the valley. Thank you so much Vanguard for your continued trust and support in SVdP!

Fiesta Bowl Charities knows service is "More Than Just A Game"

Fiesta Bowl Charities has a motto: “More Than Just A Game.” It demonstrates their purpose to better to the community, something they have done since 1971. Nothing demonstrates their commitment to this ideal more than their $25,000 donation to SVdP’s Virginia G. Piper Medical Clinic for sports physicals. This donation allowed underprivileged kids in Phoenix to get a free sports physical so that they could participate in sports at their school. The ability to get a sports physical is often one of the barriers for students to participate and feel included with their peers. Thank you so much, Fiesta Bowl Charities, for your support of SVdP and for giving kids in our community the opportunity to excel!

Talking Stick Resort and Casino brought smiles to SVdP and its dental clinic

Talking Stick Resort and Casino has been extremely generous to SVdP this year! Not only did they present a $50,000 donation to SVdP’s general fund, but they also gave an additional $5,000 to SVdP’s Delta Dental of Arizona Oral Health Center! Thank you Talking Stick Resort and Casino for supporting SVdP’s mission to feed, clothe, house, and heal those in need across the Valley!

Sagicor Life Insurance Company Ensures Another Merry Christmas for Palomino School District

Every year, hundreds of kids from Palomino Primary School visit SVdP’s Hope Chest Thrift Store to pick out a couple special presents to give to their family members. It is one of the most special moments of the year, and SVdP would not be able to do it without generous contributions from organizations like Sagicor Life Insurance Company, which gave $25,000 to make the Palomino event happen this year. Thank you so much, Sagicor! You helped make this year’s holiday season special for so many!
