Listing of Household Goods We Are Unable to Accept

Please review this list of household goods that St. Vincent de Paul is unable to accept. Trust us, you don’t want to schedule our truck only to leave your household donations outside.
We provide outside pickups only (i.e., curb, driveway, open garage) and do not enter homes or buildings. Call us with questions: (602) 254-3338 option 2.

Top 4 Items St. Vincent de Paul Is Unable to Accept:

1. Flimsy furniture (i.e., unsteady, fragile bookcases made of particle board or pressed wood)
2. Oversized/large furniture (i.e., desks, armoires, entertainment centers, wall units)
3. Items that are damaged, broken, ripped, torn, stained, foul-smelling, unsanitary or with pet hair
4. Incomplete items that are missing parts

Home improvement or appliances SVdP does not accept:

  • Dishwashers
  • Doors
  • Carpet
  • Garage doors
  • Shower stalls
  • Ceiling fans
  • Commercial light fixtures
  • Chandeliers
  • Water heaters
  • Spas/hot tub
  • Bathtubs
  • Camper shells
  • Evaporative coolers
  • Gas-powered lawn equipment

General items SVdP does not accept:

  • Office furniture (chairs, desks, filing cabinets)
  • Cribs
  • Car seats
  • Beds that are electric, hospital, water, or Sleep Number
  • Pool tables
  • Flammables/chemicals
  • Mirrors without frames
  • Electric organs
  • Florescent light bulbs
  • Lift chairs/recliners
  • Disassembled weight machines
  • Panes of glass
  • Propane tanks
  • Weapons/firearms
  • Tube TVs
  • VHS/cassette tapes
  • Office partitions/cubicles
  • Magazines/encyclopedias
  • Recyclables (aluminum cans, glass, newspaper, plastics)
  • Non-working appliances
  • Wet or fire-damaged items

After ensuring your household donations are items we can accept, please schedule a date for St. Vincent de Paul staff to greet you at your home and pick up your gently used household donations.
