Last week, members of the Bob Bové Foundation and C&S Sporting Goods visited St. Vincent de Paul's Family Dining Room to give out sports equipment to the kids attending Family Evening Meal. They brought equipment for basketball, soccer, volleyball, and more so that all ages and activity levels could be accounted for.
"[The gear is for] kids who haven't played sports before or who can't afford to get into sports," said Chad Carpenter, owner of C&S Sporting Goods.
Charmie Simms, the president of the Bob Bové Foundation and Bob's widow, said they hold events like this because of how much Bob cared about children and their wellbeing.
"We love St. Vincent de Paul. It's such a great organization that looks out for the kids and their families." Charmie said. "It's going to be a lot of fun."
