Safeway and Albertsons join SVdP to help feed Arizona neighbors this Hunger Action Month

The grocery stores will support SVdP and other local nonprofits this September in partnership with Arizona’s Family & CBS5.

This September, during Hunger Action Month, Safeway, Albertsons and Arizona’s Family and CBS5 are joining together to support St. Vincent de Paul and other local nonprofits working to fight hunger in Arizona.

Throughout the month, community members can make a monetary donation at the register or PIN pad at their local Safeway or Albertsons. Every donation helps provide food and meals to neighbors facing food insecurity.

The need for food assistance across Arizona is growing:
  • Across Arizona, more families are struggling to afford the food they need. Since July 2025, more than 450,000 Arizonans have lost access to SNAP benefits, including nearly 200,000 children.
Throughout the month of September, supporters can:
  • Donate at the PIN pad when checking out at your local Safeway and Albertsons grocery store
Safeway and Albertsons locations:

Where your support goes:
  • Donations made through this campaign directly support St. Vincent de Paul’s hunger relief programs and partner community food pantries across the state.
SVdP addresses food insecurity by:
  • Delivering food boxes to families and individuals through 80+ community food pantries in central and northern Arizona
  • Preparing and serving 5,000 hot meals every day through its four charity dining rooms, shelters, and more than 30 community partners

A small gift at the register can help provide a meal, fill a food box and give a family a little more room in their budget. Join us this Hunger Action Month and help make sure our Arizona neighbors have access to the food they need.
