It's official. Three of St. Vincent de Paul dining rooms are back open in a hybrid way — offering both dine-in and to-go meals. As of July 6, guests of the Mesa, Phoenix and Sunnyslope dining rooms have the option to dine inside while social distancing or pick up to-go meals depending on space availability and whichever service method they prefer. Hence what SVdP Food Services Director Danielle McMahon is calling the nonprofit's new "hybrid dining model."
“We’re so excited to host some of our meals inside,” Danielle said. “But we need the community’s help to keep those meals going, especially in the summertime when volunteering and donations drop just as families have kids at home, more meals to provide and more mouths to feed.”
The reopening comes just in time for the July focus on food for SVdP's 100 Days of Summer initiative. Running through Labor Day, the summer campaign invites the community to help with a different summer need each month, asking people to “Shine by Sharing” and support the mission from near or far.
June = Water
July = Food
August = Shelter
With July's focus, SVdP hopes that the community will participate specifically in opportunities supporting the nonprofit's food services. Some of those #ShineBySharing July opportunities include...

Every day SVdP serves more than 4,500 meals, which means this summer alone SVdP will provide more than 450,000 meals. And now some of those meals will be served dine-in style.
